Air & Surface Sampling – Independent Laboratory Analysis
BioSweep® UK provides professional air and surface sampling using recognised sampling techniques, with samples submitted for independent laboratory analysis using UKAS-accredited test methods where applicable. Results provide qualitative and/or quantitative data to support environmental assessment, remediation and decontamination decisions.
We use recognised sampling techniques - Air-O-Cell, sorbent tube sampling, surface swabs, and ATP/rapid detection swabs, giving both quantitative and qualitative data to support remediation or decontamination decisions.
Our Air & Surface Sampling Methods
BioSweep UK uses established environmental sampling methods to investigate suspected contamination, assess recorded conditions and support remediation or verification requirements.
Air-O-Cell Air Sampling: Collection of airborne fungal spores and other particulates for microscopic laboratory examination. Results can help identify fungal types and assess airborne spore concentrations at the time of sampling.
VOC Air Sampling - Sorbent Tubes: Air sampling using sorbent tubes, including activated charcoal tubes, to collect selected volatile organic compounds (VOCs) for independent laboratory analysis. Suitable for investigating suspected chemical emissions, solvent-related odours and airborne contaminants following fire or refurbishment, subject to the compounds being investigated.
Surface & Environmental Swabs: Collection of samples from accessible surfaces for laboratory investigation of mould, fungal and selected bacterial contamination. The analytical scope is agreed according to the suspected contamination and investigation requirements.
ATP Surface Testing: Rapid on-site assessment of biological residue on sampled surfaces. ATP results provide an indication of surface cleanliness but do not identify specific microorganisms or establish whether pathogens are present.
IOM Inhalable Air Sampling: Collection of inhalable airborne particulate matter for appropriate laboratory analysis, where required by the investigation.
Water Sampling: Where water-system contamination is a concern, BioSweep UK can also arrange microbiological water sampling, including Legionella, Pseudomonas, TVC and indicator organisms, through its dedicated water sampling services.
Laboratory Analysis & Reporting
Samples requiring laboratory analysis are submitted to independent laboratories. UKAS accreditation applies to specific analytical methods where available and within the laboratory's accredited scope; it should not be assumed to cover every type of environmental sample or analysis.
